Brochure voor een exclusieve cateraar. De uitdaging lag in het combineren van een hoogwaardige uitstraling en het eenvoudig kunnen aanpassen van de brochure. Het resultaat is een pakket van losse bladen, aan elkaar gebonden door een ruw stukje touw. Ieder blad bevat tekst en foto’s van een afzonderlijk cateringconcept (zie ook Brand Design) en de inhoud van de brochure is daardoor steeds opnieuw samen te stellen, aangepast aan de wensen van beoogde klanten.

Misschien wel het belangrijkste communicatiemiddel van nu: een website. Niet vreemd dus dat hieraan steeds hogere eisen gesteld worden. In samenwerking met skyhighmedia.nl ontwikkelt Artvertisement websites die aan al deze eisen voldoen: een professioneel en mooi ontwerp, een duidelijke interface voor de bezoeker, een gebruiksvriendelijk Content Management System voor de beheerder en een goede vindbaarheid in zoekmachines. Iedere opdracht begint bovendien op een leeg vel papier en eindigt in een uniek ontwerp, waardoor de website altijd het juiste ‘gevoel’ uitstraalt.

CONCEPTPRESENTATIE, 2010

Conceptisch, een bedrijf dat zorg- en vastgoedconcepten ontwikkelt, had het verzoek om voor een zorginstelling een bijzondere, maar eenvoudige conceptpresentatie te bedenken. Het resultaat is een tafellaken van 230 x 130 cm, voorzien van patronen met geborduurd effect en teksten die handgeschreven lijken. Deze oplossing paste perfect bij de verrassende identiteit van Conceptisch en tegelijkertijd was de boodschap gemakkelijk over te brengen op de opdrachtgevers.

PROMOTIEDRUKWERK, 2010 & 2011

Om het vernieuwde concept van De Apostel aan de juiste doelgroep over te brengen, ontstaat er in 2010 een reeks posters en flyers van enkele vernieuwende evenementen. De inspiratie wordt gehaald uit de eenvoudige maar effectieve typografische stijl uit het midden van de vorige eeuw, aangevuld met passende foto’s. De reeks evolueert na verloop van tijd enigszins: er ontstaan variaties op de herkenbare achtergrond met ornamenten en er wordt meer gebruik gemaakt van illustraties.

ADVERTENTIECAMPAGNE, 2010 & 2011

Hoewel de huisstijl van Loewe weinig vrijheid toelaat, ben ik op zoek gegaan naar grenzen om Loewe Gallery Maastricht een sterker karakter te geven. Daarbij blijven de advertenties de uitstraling van de fabrikant behouden, de boodschap is echter veel meer gericht op wat de Maastrichtse vestiging specifiek wil communiceren.

Om het bedrijf Conceptisch begrijpelijker te maken voor de opdrachtgevers, zonder de bijzondere bedrijfsindentiteit te verliezen, zijn er stripfiguren ontwikkeld van alle werknemers. Een strip is een zeer effectieve manier om duidelijk te maken wat ieders kwaliteit en functie is. Het concept is zo afgeleverd, dat het als ‘bouwpakket’ (“Build your own …”) in Keynote-presentaties gebruikt kan worden door de werknemers.

Campagne ontwikkeld in samenwerking met skyhighmedia.nl en checkmyconcepts.com: Limburg wordt door zijn zachte en behulpzame karakter geprofileerd als dé provincie om golf zonder gêne te leren, maar ook om het spel te perfectioneren. De campagne luidt: “Wanneer hebt u voor het laatst iets nieuws ervaren, dat niet tegenviel?” Golf in Limburg is een prettige uitzondering binnen alles wat je leert in het leven. Een statistiekensysteem brengt indien gewenst bovendien de verbeterpunten in beeld.

Ontstaan vanuit de interesse in tekenen, schilderen, kunst en industrieel ontwerp, werd al op zeer jonge leeftijd duidelijk dat het ‘iets’ moest worden met ontwerpen. Artvertisement is hiervan het logische vervolg: een professioneel reclame- en ontwerpbureau, dat kunstzinnige, serieuze en vooral mooie projecten bedenkt, creëert en presenteert.

De uiteenlopende opdrachten die Artvertisement uitvoert, typeren de veelzijdigheid en de passie: het creëren van een professionele bedrijfsuitstraling of -uiting, het realiseren van gebruiksvriendelijke websites, het vormgeven van opvallende producten of het uitvinden van onderscheidende reclamecampagnes en totaalconcepten, tonen aan dat uitdagingen gezocht worden bij veel verschillende opdrachtgevers. Niet alleen wordt er gewerkt voor wereldmerken, maar is er ook aandacht voor de kleinere uitdagingen. Goed is niet goed genoeg. Eigenschappen die door mijn achtergrond in tekenen, kunst en filosofie verder versterkt zijn en ervoor hebben gezorgd dat ik op een andere manier naar zaken kan kijken. Hierdoor heb ik een scherp oog voor alle indrukken die je in het dagelijks leven opdoet. Deze indrukken vormen de inspiratiebron voor hetgeen niet mijn werk is, maar mijn leven: een soort van allround kunstenaar, altijd op zoek naar iets moois en pas voldaan wanneer er met al die inspiratie iets gemaakt is dat volledig aan alle wensen voldoet. Een resultaat zien dat zich heeft ontwikkeld vanuit een leeg vel papier – ook letterlijk – dat is voor mij de leukste uitdaging die er bestaat.

Op deze website wil ik laten zien wat het resultaat is van al deze uitdagingen. Het uitgangspunt voor ieder project is dat het gewaardeerd wordt, simpelweg omdat het mooi is. Het stuk kunst dat ik eraan toevoeg combineer ik vervolgens met functionaliteit, omdat ik het doel van het project nooit uit het oog wil verliezen. Bovendien is ook professionaliteit een voorwaarde in mijn werk, omdat zónder dit kenmerk een project in mijn ogen sowieso niet geslaagd is.

In het jaar 2008 heb ik deze werkwijze tot uiting laten komen door de oprichting van mijn eigen bedrijf: Artvertisement, een reclame-
en ontwerpbureau waarin ik op een professionele manier steeds weer op zoek ben om al die uitgangspunten samen te voegen
tot een mooi eindresultaat.
